Sleepy Love

My Dearest Philosopher,

More than a year has passed since my last love letter to you!! This year has been our most transformative to date! I would say the key moments of the year center on our consecration to Our Lady, daily sexual intimacy, and the birth of our 3rd child!!

My consecration to Our Lady, in July 2014, began a powerful journey into the depths of myself. To come to the realization that my identity as a woman was formed around work and not truly as God created me to be was eye opening!! Though my heart breaks thinking of the first part of my life and the beginning of our marriage, I do not despair, but rejoice in thanksgiving for I have finally awoken from my slumber in the Garden of Gethsemane. That with the help of Christ and Our Lady, I am no longer a sleepy disciple, but one who has been given the gift of sight!! I am in humble gratitude to God for helping me daily tackle the difficult parts of myself so that I may root out, prune, and flourish as the woman, wife, and mother He has created me to be!! I cannot stress enough the importance of total consecration to Our Lady by both spouses in the marriage! Our marriage and family life has truly blossomed through our consecrations! We have been given new life as persons and as spouses; for which I am forever grateful!!

Daily sexual intimacy, for which all love and life flow between spouses, has been an area of our marriage this year that we continue to grow in, work diligently on, and make top priority!! For the first time, I have come to the following realizations: 1.) Sexual intimacy is a gift that is meant to be DAILY shared between spouses, 2.) That those called to marriage are meant to love, cherish, desire, long, and explore the other as God loves, desires, and longs for us, 3.) That we find Christ through the gift of self to the other not separate from Him, and most importantly 4.) Sex is not something that just happens, but takes work to perfect! As in all things, which are Good, spouses must strive to understand their own bodies—delighting in the exploration of self with the other as well as exploring their Beloved whom God has given to them as a Gift!! Life flows from the Marriage Bed when there is love between the spouses. All those little things now done for you, My Love, take on a deeper and fuller meaning when I have united to you in this way!! I thank God and Our Lady for helping me to see and giving me the spiritual courage to act…to be vulnerable and allow myself to love and be loved!! I long for you my love; and look forward to this evening!!

The pregnancy and birth of our 3rd child has allowed my heart to expand in love for you and our three children!! God truly granted us an abundance of life and love with the birth of our 3rd child! My heart delights in knowing that with God as our center we always put our marriage and family first in all decisions! Just as we said YES to the vocation of marriage and to each other, as Mary did at the Annunciation, we continue to say YES to God and our children as their parents and primary educators!! I would rather give up material things than ever choose a job or lifestyle that prevents me from being home with our angels or making the things of this world a priority over you and them!! My heart sings knowing that we are growing into ourselves the more we throw ourselves into one another and into the “cutie chaos!” Not a day goes by where I can ever imagine life without you and them! I also am thankful to Our Lady for helping me begin to order my day properly with a daily Rosary in the early AM and a 30 minute exercise shortly following! Both have given me the energy to be present to you when you come home in the evening and with the children during the day! It helps also making the decision a year ago to delete social media apps from my phone!! Life can be challenging enough without the added distraction of Facebook or scrolling newsfeeds!

Thanks for being so patient with me through our many revelations and transformations this past year. Thank you also for loving me; and for pushing me to never settle or live in a state of mediocrity, but to push forward to be more excellent and more virtuous!! As we count down the days of 2015, may this upcoming year be filled with love, joy, blissful sex, and laughter!! I look forward to dancing into 2016 with the man God created especially for me!! You are my heart!!

Eternally yours,

Your Philosophy
